Helping You Access the Benefits You Deserve

Employee Eligibility

If you are an active, full-time employee who is scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week, you are eligible to participate in healthcare benefits. Your elections are effective on the first of the month following your date of hire, or immediately if your date of hire is the first of the month.

Your Eligible Dependents

Dependents of EdgeConneX employees who are also eligible for coverage in the EdgeConneX benefits program include:

  • Your legal spouse or qualified domestic partner.
  • Your or your spouse’s married or unmarried children up to age 26 including natural children, stepchildren, legally adopted children, foster children, or children for whom you or your spouse are the legal guardian.
  • Unmarried children age 26 or older who are or become disabled and who are dependent upon you may be eligible for benefits. Please contact Human Resources for additional information.
  • Children for whom healthcare coverage is required through a Qualified Medical Child Support Order (QMCSO).
  • For Voluntary Dependent Life, Child(ren) coverage is available for unmarried dependents up to age 26 who are supported by you regardless of student status.
When Can I Enroll?

As a new hire, you have 31 days to enroll in benefits. If you do not enroll within the first 31 days of hire, you will not be eligible for benefits until the next annual open enrollment period. Since your payroll contributions for health insurance are made on a pre-tax basis, you may only make benefit changes during the annual open enrollment period, unless you have a Qualified Family Status Change. You must notify Human Resources of such enrollment changes within 31 days of the Qualified Family Status Change. If you do not contact Human Resources within these 31 days, you will not be allowed to change your benefit election(s) or add/drop dependents until the next annual open enrollment period.

How Do I Enroll?

You can enroll through the Rippling portal within 31 days of hire or mid year change in status. Please note you are required to provide Social Security number and date of birth for any dependent you wish to cover under the plans, as required by the IRS.

When Does Coverage End?

Healthcare benefits end the last day of the month worked. However, under certain circumstances, you may continue your healthcare benefits through COBRA continuation.

What Is a Qualified Life Event?

Under IRS rules, changes in family status include:

  • Marriage or divorce of the participant.
  • Birth or adoption of a child of the participant.
  • Termination of employment (or commencement of employment) of the participant’s spouse.
  • Switching from part time to full time employment, or vise versa, by the participant or the participant’s spouse.
  • Taking of an unpaid leave of absence by the participant or the participant’s spouse.
  • Significant changes in the health coverage of the participant or participant’s spouse attributable to the spouse’s employment (e.g., the spouse’s employer terminates its health plan).
